When Applegate began more than 30 years ago, the company sourced from only a handful of farms. Today, Applegate works with more than 2,000 partner farmers who are raising animals to Applegate standards—third-party animal welfare certified and without antibiotics. As a result, Applegate saves millions of pounds of antibiotics—keeping them out of the system and helping to prevent the growing public health crisis of antibiotic resistance.
